Globally incubation has been identified as a means of meeting a variety of economic and socioeconomic policy needs, which may include job creation, fostering a community’s entrepreneurial climate, technology commercialization, diversifying local economies, building or accelerating growth of local industry clusters, business creation and retention, encouraging women or minority entrepreneurship, identifying potential spin-in or spin-out business opportunities, or community revitalization. Taking the same idea Jagadambha College of Engineering and Technology has also established the incubation centre for its student and alumni. The incubation centre here incubates various activities through different committees such as Research and development centre, III cell, IP Cell and Learning and Creativity Centre. The incubation centre supports and encourages those people who have a passion for knowledge generation and mentoring.
Incubates may be offered shared space at JE on a case-by-case basis. JE will also actively support incubatees with a combination of inputs including
The JE Incubation Centre seeks to support all members of the JAGADAMBHA ecosystem to translate innovation into products, processes and services that are commercially viable.

The scope of support is envisaged to be broad-based and covers technologies/ IP developed wholly at the institute or partly through collaborations elsewhere. The JE incubation centre will also be open to considering proposals with strong social and strategic impact.

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas while they are in formative years. MIC has envisioned creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in these campuses.
